About Tanglewood Concepts
Rooted in Legacy. Driven by Purpose.
Tanglewood Concepts was born from a story of love, resilience, and a deep commitment to family. Growing up, my sister and I lived with our grandpa on a small farm in Chattaroy, Washington called Tanglewood Farms. It earned its name because, when he first purchased the raw land, it was just a tangle of woods.
While working a full-time job, my grandpa came home each evening to tend to the livestock—and to us, his granddaughters. Our mom was active-duty military, and she made the difficult decision to have us live with our grandfather so we could have stability and avoid constantly changing schools. I was lucky to have a mother who sacrificed time with her children for our well-being, and a grandfather who gave us the comfort of home.
On that farm, my grandpa instilled in us a powerful lesson: work hard, but don’t forget to laugh—and always make time for a card game or two. As time passed, the animals were sold, but the land remained. What once was Tanglewood Farms simply became Tanglewood—still full of life, love, and meaning.
When my mom transitioned to a permanent role as an air traffic controller in Wisconsin, we moved and began a new chapter. I watched her juggle life as a single mom, surrounded by a community of support at her military base. Not everyone has that kind of network. Even as a child, I knew I wanted to create something that could support others the way my family was supported—whether through encouragement, resources, or simply being a sounding board.
After my grandpa passed in 2014, the idea for Tanglewood Concepts began to form. Though I stayed in traditional jobs for years, the vision never left me. In 2024, I finally brought it to life.
Tanglewood Concepts is more than a business—it’s a tribute.
It honors my grandpa’s legacy of hard work, joy, and generosity. It celebrates my mom’s strength and sacrifice. And it’s here to support individuals—especially those navigating life’s complexities—by offering tools, guidance, and heart-led services.
What Do I Bring to the Client Relationship?
A cheesy smile and, admittedly, a laugh that might be a little too loud. Oh—and a love of animals. But that’s just the fun part.
The Construction Side of the Story
From home improvement to business tenant improvements, I bring a hands-on, real-world approach backed by a solid foundation.
I hold a degree in Interior Design—but let’s be clear: I don’t decorate. I collaborate with talented people who handle that side of things. My focus is on finishes and space planning, where I offer expert advice and strategic insight.
For over 25 years, I’ve been immersed in the housing and construction industry. I’ve worked on-site with a new home builder, and I’ve served as a Project Manager revitalizing commercial buildings—four of which I led through the process of being listed on the Spokane Historical Registry. That combination of formal education and practical experience is what gives me an edge.
Skills That Set Me Apart as a Project Manager/Planner:
I enjoy diving into codes and regulations—and figuring out how they apply to your project.
I speak “permit lingo” and know how to build strong relationships with local departments to keep projects running smoothly from the start.
Not all projects require an architect or engineer, but when they do, I’ve got trusted resources ready.
I’m passionate about Computer-Aided Drafting and space planning. You’ll receive professional plans at the end of the project, which you can refer to for future remodels.
I factor in hidden systems—like fire suppression, HVAC, and electrical—right from the beginning.
The Small Business / Solopreneur Side of the Story
Capturing the details that matter.
With a background in Quality Assurance testing, I discovered a real passion (and talent) for creating organized documents and repeatable processes. It’s something that sets me apart. At the end of each project, you’ll receive a comprehensive close-out packet, complete with photos, specs, and documentation of everything we accomplished together.
Whether it's a homeowner chasing a dream or a business owner looking to improve their space, I strive to be the person they can turn to. I want to be that safe zone—someone you trust when you’re unsure who to ask or how to start a project. Sometimes it’s as simple as knowing the right questions to ask when evaluating a space to lease.
Through college and into my professional life, I discovered a deep love for all things construction. Along the way, I also uncovered a strong attention to detail and a genuine joy in developing systems and processes. One client—now a dear friend—once called me “a walking, talking SOP (Standard Operating Procedure),” and honestly, I took it as the highest compliment. I thrive on creating repeatable processes and finding smart solutions to improve what’s already in place. These are the kinds of skills that benefit both homeowners and business owners alike.
Shaped by Midwest values and inspired by my grandpa and mom, I’ve learned the importance of balancing hard work with a love for life. That foundation gave me both the work ethic and personality I bring to everything I do.
